Day 8, Scandinavian Extreme Winter Expedition

29 January 2016
by Peter Blazicek

Leaving behing a great city – Copenhagen and the friendliest people I have ever met. Seriously. Everything here ran 100%...
We drove via spectacular Oresund bridge, 8km long bridge-tunnel connecting Copenhagen and Malmo city in Sweden. (Connects central and western Europe to Scandinavia). Actually, as the weather in Scandinavia is mostly – rainy, overcast, windy and foggy – there were no views to enjoy. Just the strange feelings you first go drive down to the tunnel, then, you appears up on the bridge..
We arrived to Malmo – had a coffee break, visited information centre as my client wanted to visit a special place on the southern part of Sweden rather than a tour around Malmo.
Up to Kaseberga village southwards 1hr30 min drive. To admire Ala’stones – Swedish largest preserved stone ship. They were formed in a boat form and erected here according to analyses around 500 – 1000 AD. Stone ships were often built in Viking era (800-1000AD).
It was not that cold as it was windy. Stockholm is our next destination for 3 overnights. Almost 7hrs of driving, midnight check-in.
